18:52 adopt a grandma!

for my husbands birthday we sent him to an auto show he was desperately wanting to see in California, but dragging our 2 and 3 yr old girls around an auto show for several days was not my idea of fun.  fortunately they were only 5 minutes from Disneyland so you know what us girls did for those days :)

the most enjoyable part of the trip for the girls was meeting Tinker Bell and Minnie Mouse…
the most enjoyable part for me was meeting Sandy in line for the first ride of the first and longest day!  we instantly gravitated to this Disney veteran, who knew which rides were most appropriate, where to go, what to see, the healthy food choices available in the park and best of all, where the bathrooms were.  it was like adopting a grandma for the day.  she knew everything about how to best enjoy our adventure, but also provided a second set of hands to help with spare clothes and gear, another set of eyes for potential hazards or speedy little feet, patience and humor.  her spirit made me think…  ‘is there a retirement business’ here for this soon to retire school teacher?   what parent wouldn’t love a nurturing tour-guide to make their trip to Disney land just that little bit more magical?

Sandy, thank you so much for adopting us for our day too!
